I learned that there is always more than one way of looking at things, always more than one way to solve a problem, and always more than one way to do what you love. If you're willing to work hard and learn from your surroundings and community, you can work for anything you want. Pick your mentors and always listen to your gut.
As a store owner I have found that it takes a lot of balance and creativity, but I wouldn't trade my shop and all the challenges and rewards it presents for anything. Juxtapostion, after all, is what keeps me balanced and motivated!
