Making to Markets is a free, hands-on workshop series for students in grades 7–11 who are curious about turning their creative ideas into real-world products. Designed to spotlight the power of small, independent manufacturing, this program introduces students to what it truly means to be a small-scale “maker.” Participants will explore how independent creators bring their ideas to life without mass production, why thoughtful design and problem-solving matter, and how products are made in small batches.
Through interactive workshops led by creative professionals and emerging artists/designers, students will gain practical experience with marketing, branding, and packaging. Students will leave each workshop with the essential skills for standing out in a competitive marketplace. They will learn how to present their work, connect with customers, and tell the story behind what they make. Each attendee will also have the opportunity to apply to become a vendor at the PCA&D’s Spring Student Art Market in April, offering a real-world chance to showcase and sell their work. Making to Markets empowers young creators to see themselves not just as artists or designers, but as confident, independent makers ready to bring their ideas to the market! Spaces are limited, register today!

Creative Playground is a hands-on, come-and-go community art event celebrating imagination, collaboration, and making together as families hosted by the Center for Creative Exploration at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design along with community partners. This event takes place 3:30 – 6 pm
The Center for Creative Exploration at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design will be hosting a giant making table open for the full duration—inviting artists of all ages to tinker, build, and create freely. Peace Kids to the Rescue will guide children and adults through a collaborative monoprinting experience using cake pans and paints.
From 3:00–4:30 pm, Lancaster TotSpot will host We Built This City!, a collaborative project exploring community, architecture, and sculpture as participants work together to design and embellish a city inspired by real-life surroundings or pure imagination. Geared toward children ages 2–10 and their caregivers—but welcoming creators of all ages—this activity emphasizes teamwork and storytelling through building.
And beginning at 4:30 pm, Hillside Place Studio will offer a quieter, low-key mixed media experience inspired by the book We Share This Neighborhood. Through collage, assemblage, and experimentation, participants will reflect on ideas of neighborhood and belonging, creating small works that express what community means to them in a calm, welcoming space.
Join us for a playful, process-focused evening of activities designed to encourage shared creativity between adults and kids.
This event is free and open to the public. Please register so we know how much fun to have on hand! RSVP Link: https://forms.gle/pvXmjr3TzzTfXxEE8
Drop in any time between 3:30 – 6 pm on May 12, 2026. Check out the event listing on the Remake Learning Day website.
