Courtney Mengel

Adjunct Professor

Liberal Arts

As a graduate of the Master’s program in Art History at Syracuse University, Courtney was able to take advantage of the unique Florence Program in Italian Renaissance Art. Although she had to leave two months after arrival due to the pandemic, she had close encounters with rare books and manuscripts at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze and visited many of Florence’s key monuments and museums.

Courtney was engaged with the history and practice of art conservation, art historical theories, methods, and historiography, the collection and display of art, and the manner in which the visual culture of the period relates to larger Mediterranean and global historical and artistic contexts.

In addition to teaching art history at PCA&D, she is a feature writer for Engle Printing & Publishing, Inc.
