Laura Tanzer is a craftsperson, artist and educator newly arrived from Arizona and currently living in East Petersburg, PA. Laura creates wearable sculptural art with sustainably sourced fibers, textiles, and vintage findings. Her multi-disciplinary practice integrates photography, fashion illustration, drawing, painting and printmaking on textiles, and wearable sculpture.

In addition to professional experience exhibiting her artwork and winning awards, Laura has an extensive teaching background. She has taught Fashion Illustration, Science of Textiles, Social, Cultural and Fashion Relationships, Sustainable Practice, and Sewing, Patternmaking, and Mending courses to undergraduate students, and has taught studio-based workshops and classes. When she’s not teaching or making art, Laura likes to travel, read, and explore the local nature trails.
