Unearthing Solitude

Callie Brooke Morton '20, 2024-2025 Fine Artist in Residence

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design is proud to present Unearthing Solitude, work by Fine Art Alumni Callie Brooke Morton. This exhibition is the culmination of Morton’s time as PCA&D’s 2024-2025 Fine Artist in Residence. The exhibition runs from August 18 – October 10, 2025 with a public reception in the College’s Main Gallery for First Friday on September 5, 2025, from 5-8 pm.

“Connecting memories, emotions, and myself to the work bridges together a journey of new life. Exploring themes of abandonment and identity through painting and printmaking, the work grew to tell the story of recovery. This body of work began in the midst of my addiction and through time found its conclusion in my life in recovery… Finding beauty and solace within destruction is what led to the title of this show. Unearthing myself through a path of solitude, battling personal destruction to achieve acceptance of my addiction and trauma.” – Callie Brooke Morton
