McNichol infuses images pulled from waking like with visual rhythms inspired by jazz pianos and trumpet blares to tell stories from her mind eye’s view. Made of acrylic paint and cut-paper collage, these paintings exist between the worlds of waking and dreaming, hovering on the jungle line.

The exhibit will run July 7 through September 1. The opening reception is Saturday, July 7, 6-8 p.m.

McNichol grew up in Glenside, PA, and currently lives and paints in Philadelphia. Since receiving her BFA from Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in 2012, she has participated in various art programs and residencies: the Emerging Artist in Residence (EAR) program at Millersville University, The Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution (VACI), the Vermont Studio Center, and most recently she was a resident staff artist at the Mount Gretna School of Art (MGSoA).  She returns to PCA&D frequently to help install exhibitions in the College’s Main Gallery.
