- Becky Blosser (Chair, Fine Art) is a finalist in the annual Art of the State exhibition, which opens this month in Harrisburg at the State Museum of Pennsylvania. The juried exhibit includes 96 works of art selected from 2,200 entries submitted by more than 600 artists. Blosser submitted Hush, a drypoint work, to the exhibition.
- Amy Boone-McCreesh ’07, Fine Art, is one of three finalists for the 2024 Janet & Walter Sondheim Art Prize, which awards a $30,000 fellowship to assist in furtherintg the career of a visual artist or collaborators living and working in the Baltimore region. The work of Boone-McCreesh, who works in mixed media, and her fellow finalists is on display at Baltimore’s Walters Art Museum through Sept. 8. - Ashley Moog Bowlsbey ’12, Photography, has been named an adjunct professor of Visual Arts at Franklin & Marshall College. She also serves as an adjunct instructor in PCA&D”s Department of Photography & Video.
- Congratulations to Kiri Chhun ’25, Photography & Video, as well as alumna Hannah Aust ’24, Photography & Video, whose work is part of an exhibition at Unique Photo in Philadelphia.
- Work by Alivia Haltom ’24, Fine Art, has been selected for inclusion in a new exhibition at the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in Kansas City, Mo. The show opens in October and runs through next June.
- Work by Jasmyn Stokes’23, Illustration, a piece titled Sorceress, was chosen for the 2024 Gallerium Art Prize and Exhibition, and will be exhibited through Oct. 14 on the Gallerium website. Stokes recently wrapped up a Career Development Fellowship at the College.
- Aaron Thompson (Assistant Professor, Foundation) had a busy summer of exhibitions: Art Week Annex, Great Spruce Head Island, Maine; 12×12, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, Mass.; Back to the Future, Steven Francis Fine Art, Lynchburg, Va.; Plein Air West Reading, Art Plus Gallery, West Reading; Moments of Atmosphere, Garden Spot, Ephrata; and Your Next Destination, Hartford Area Community College, Hartford, Md. In addition, he’s also been preparing work for two upcoming shows: BAA 45th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Goggle Works, Reading, which opened Sept. 3, and The Art of Berks History at The Berks History Center, Reading (opened Sept. 4, through Nov. 15).
