Bill Mammarella appointed as Fine Art Chair at PCA&D

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design is pleased to announce that William Mammarella has accepted the position of Chair of the Fine Art department.

William mammarellaMammarella, of Lancaster, PA, has an active career as a fine art painter with a strong emphasis on drawing. As a PCA&D faculty member for the last 18 years he is known for his ability to stress fundamentals in an ordered sequence with a clear understanding of goals and outcomes and for guiding students toward exploring ideas with an emphasis on producing professional results. This appointment was effective January, 1, 2016.

According to Marc Torick, PCA&D’s Academic Dean, “Bill will bring his experience as a valued faculty member in Foundation to the position where he will oversee the curriculum by defining a balance between materials, techniques, and concepts that will empower students to succeed in developing their artistic own voices.”

MammarellaW2Mammarella has had recent solo exhibits including; “Contemporary Landscape” City Hall Gallery, Lancaster, PA, in 2014; “The Enduring Horizion” The Gallery at Dogstar, Lancaster PA in 2013; and “The Contemporary Landscape” Aida Jaine Gallery, Collingswood, NJ in 2011. He earned his Master’s of Fine Arts at University of Delaware and a Bachelor’s of Arts at Rutgers University. His website featuring his work is http://www.williammammarella.com/

The college also recognized the previous Chair of the Fine Art department, Eric Weeks, for his important contributions to the program. Weeks will continue his current responsibilities as PCA&D’s Chair of the Photography.
