Registration for the Spring session of Center for Creative Exploration (CCE) classes has opened, and it’s a long list of opportunities packed into the April-June timeframe:
Adult Professional Development & Single-Session Workshops
The four Professional Development classes — Effective Design: Color & Typography, Intro to Digital Marketing, Intro to JavaScript, and Intro to UX/UI — all meet twice weekly to provide an intensive learning experience in a short time. Four other Adult Professional experiences are single-session workshops that serve as a brief roundup of information: Intro to OBS, Personal Branding, and Photoshop Crash Courses in Color Correction and Composite Imagery.
Two bonuses to this collection of professional development opportunities: First, students who successfully complete any of the four multi-session classes earn college credit. And secondly, because all of these Professional Development classes and workshops are online, students can take advantage no matter where they live. No matter where students are in their professional journey, there’s something to be gained from this slate of classes that will strengthen resumes or boost effectiveness at a current job.

The Art of Writing
The Center for Creative Exploration celebrates creatives of all types — including writers. This Spring lineup features the multisession Fictional Worldbuilding: Creating Fully Realized Settings, Inspired by Art: Ekphrastic Creative Writing, and Horror Writing: Exploring the Uncanny, as well as single-session Intro to Creative Writing and Nature Journaling workshops.
Outdoor in-person art instruction
Warmer weather makes it possible to create in community together, with workshops like Forest Bathing for the Creative Soul and Plein Air Painting, as well as multisession classes including Beginning Portrait Photography, Cyanotype Weekend Workshop, Sacred Geometry and Lancaster City, and Summer Landscape Drawing.
Tactile & Fabric Arts
For those whose imaginations are sparked by hands-on use of materials, CCE offers the one-session Exploring Soft Sculpture and Texture workshop and Synesthesia: The Art of Blending Senses, along with classes in Coil Basket Weaving and Intro to Soft Sculpture.
Painting
For students who are happiest with a brush in their hand, painting is another CCE focus this Spring. Along with opportunities already mentioned you’ll find Painting: The Tiny Landscape, Painting & Drawing: The Portrait of Self and Abstract Watercolor.
Pre-College & Young Artists
Pre-College Students have the chance to study Intro to Blender for 3D Modeling, and Young Artists can experience Mini Young Artist Academies for Grades 1-3, Grades 4-5, and Grades 6-9, as well as Creating Self Portraits Inspired by Women Artists (Grades 5-8) and a workshop, Let’s Celebrate Spring Through Collage (Grades 4-9).
… and more
That’s not even the full list of available classes now open for registration — it’s turned into a very busy season for CCE! To check out the complete selection of classes, visit pcad.edu/creative-exploration and explore by category.
