Congratulations to Aiyana Alvarado for Girlypop! personal care packaging; Warren Burke for Rhapsody wireless earbuds packaging; Coby Correll for Little Reds earbuds packaging; Matthew Dornan for QAT headphones packaging; and Bailey Stechman for Astros earbuds packaging. All were Class of 2025 Graphic Design students in Tom Newmaster’s packaging design class.
- Dyneisha Gross ’20, Graphic Design, has begun a new position as Associate Art Director at Disney Yellow Shoes, the internal ad agency for Disney parks, experiences, and products.
- Delaina Jolley ’22, Illustration, has joined TN Framework as creative administrator and brand support assistant.
- Congratulations to rising Senior Rachael Lauterborn, whose photograph was selected to appear in the True Beauty 2025 Group Exhibition, organized by Exhibizone, through Sept. 9. The Fine Art major has dual minors in Photography and Business, and submitted the work Swimming Along April, a photo of a duck and ducklings. “As an emerging artist, my artistic media vary as I grow, ranging from painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography,” Lauterborn writes in an artist statement. “I am a process-driven artist who combines photography and fine art media to find new ways to entice the viewer’s curiosity. Currently, I am drawn to creating miniatures and sculptures, manipulating materials to create potential narratives, then combining my photography skills to create a new perspective within.”
- Jeff Maisonneuve ’21, Animation & Game Art, has started a new position as Senior Technical Artist at Unchained Entertainment. You can follow his career and find a link to his demo reel here.
- Mak Sherrid ’24, Illustration, has been tapped to serve as Costume Designer for Small Mouth Sounds, a theater production of Laconia Contemporary Company.
- Rainey Supple ’20, Animation & Game Art, has been promoted to Staff at Obsidian Entertainment.
- Natasha Warshawsky, Chair, Animation & Game Art, recently presented Monologues of Being Seen alongside artists Dr. Andrea Baldwin, Heidi Henderson, and Dr. James Lee at the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries’ annual conference hosted by the University of New Mexico. Former PCA&D Director of Exhibitions Alex Schaufele submitted the exhibition to the conference. Warshawsky presented the overall experience of the project, how it was discovered, and how it eventually came to the College. Baldwin presented the initial academic and archival research on posture portraits, using intersectional feminism as a lens to understand why this questionable practice developed and how she transformed this history into a new story and art piece. Lee addressed the technical production; Schaufele recorded a video on how the space was used; and Henderson described the live performance art component and how it relates to reclaiming the posture portrait/being seen, and led participants through a postural dance exercise.
