College announces 10×10 exhibition at PCA&D-York

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) is pleased to announce 10×10, an exhibition of 10-inch-by-10-inch works by artists from York and PCA&D faculty, staff, and students, will be on display at PCA&D-York, 133 S. Duke St., York, September 4 through October 22.

10 x 10 exhibitions are a great way to see and build community in the arts. This show invites community members — primarily from York but also Lancaster and beyond — to create work on a 10×10 inch surface with no material or subject matter restrictions. Interested? Just stop by PCA&D-York (113 S. Duke St., York), or Keystone Kidspace (10 Hamilton Ave., York), or attend a PCA&D-York pop-up workshop to pick up a free panel and entry form. Panels can be taken home to work on or participants can develop and submit their piece of work at an August 27 workshop, 12:30-2:30 pm, at Keystone Kidspace. 

Whether established, emerging, or intergenerational, there is a powerful connection created through artwork made by many people collected in one space. PCA&D hopes new relationships and possible collaborations can emerge from this exhibition. 

Panels are due by August 27 at PCA&D-York (Building Hours: August 24: 12:30-7:30 pm), or they may be created and left with our partners on the August 27 workshop day.

• Friday, September 2: First Friday York: Meet and Greet with PCA&D-York Artist in Residence Matty Guliano, 5-8 pm. 
• Sunday, September 4: 10×10 exhibition opens, PCA&D-York, noon to 5 pm. 
• Saturday, September 24: Pennsylvania College of Art & Design Art Market in Royal Square District and, Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, a drop-in 4×4 panel Workshop with artist Claudia Rojas, 10 am to 4 pm.
• Saturday, November 5: PCA&D Center for Creative Exploration workshop, Beginning Figure Drawing Workshop: Grades 5-8 , 10 am to noon.
