College teams with BrandYourself for custom digital marketing course

The Continuing Education department at PCA&D is proud to announce the creation of its first custom course built to meet the professional development needs of a local company’s workforce. This tailored course, starting at the end of May 2017, will assist members of the BrandYourself Concierge Services staff (pictured) stay on the cutting edge of best practices in digital marketing. BrandYourself, relatively new to the Lancaster business community, addresses online reputation management challenges of its clients and its staff needs to stay abreast of the latest developments in digital communications.

Custom Course Creation for local businesses

PCA&D’s Continuing Education team has developed this new program that works with businesses to create private customized courses to meet the digital and design training needs of a company’s workforce. From existing course offerings, a company can select one topic, ranging from Digital Design to HTML to Social Media Marketing, or combine several topics into a custom schedule that works for their goals and fits their staff’s schedules and experience level.

Partnering with BrandYourself

“When BrandYourself reached out to explore professional development opportunities for their staff,” said Nick Mohler, director of Continuing Education, “we were in a position to say ‘yes, we can do that’ and provide them with an overview of options.”

Four PCA&D’s teachers, with appropriate experience and specialties, will be instruct BrandYourself’s staff for 30 hours over 10 sessions, and will cover topics that meet BrandYourself’s training needs. This particular custom course will meet in the afternoon and evening and will cover:

  • WordPress for Web Design
  • Paid and Organic Social Media Marketing
  • Content Creation and Digital Storytelling
  • Blogging for Business
  • Social Audience Engagement
  • Insights, Analytics & Strategies for Digital Marketing

Custom Courses at PCA&D

While the concept of the custom course program at PCA&D was developed a few months ago, most local companies have to date, sought training to meet the needs of one or two employees who were effectively accommodated within the standard Continuing Education schedule. For a custom training class, the company registers at least 4 or 5 staff members or works jointly with another company with similar needs for staff requiring training in a particular skill. Custom courses take place during the morning, afternoon or evening based on the company, the topic and classroom availability. Classes meet at PCA&D to take advantage of the College’s environment. A few of the topics available include:

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign
  • Digital Marketing – social media, content creation, and analytics
  • HTML & Website Design
  • Responsive & Interactive Website Design
  • Digital Photography
  • Design Principles & Typography
