Monday, May 9th, 2022

The Class of 2022 became Pennsylvania College of Art & Design’s 46 newest alumni on May 6, receiving their BFA degrees in front of a standing-room-only audience of family and friends at the Barshinger Center for Musical Arts.

A recording of Commencement can be found below.

PCA&D was honored this year to welcome Heather E. McGowan as Commencement Speaker. A future-of-work strategist and author, McGowan has been ranked by LinkedIn as its number one global voice for education. With Chris Shipley she is author of The Adaptation Advantage, released in 2020. In her address, McGowan cited practical data, conceptual insights from her work, and emotional insight to note the rapidly increasing pace of change in the world. Her conclusion: That it is innovators and creatives who are best positioned to use their experience with critique, and with evolving skills, to develop not only careers but also solutions.
