Deborah Barber joins PCA&D to lead Institute for Leadership, Creative Entrepreneurship, and Innovation

Deborah Barber has joined Pennsylvania College of Art & Design as Director of the College’s newly created Institute for Leadership, Creative Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.

About Deborah Barber

Most recently Vice President of Operations at Nimblist, a lighting and production design agency for the live entertainment industry, Barber provided overall strategic leadership, direction, and development for finance, human resources,  administration, insurance, legal, and the creative and marketing teams. A former Creative Director, she is a strategic and visionary thinker, deeply rooted within the Lancaster creative community, and has served on a number of arts and community committees and boards.

About the Institute for Leadership, Creative Entrepreneurship, and Innovation

The Institute, expected to launch in late Spring 2021, will serve as the hub for multiple strategic and curricular initiatives that merge entrepreneurship with creativity. Its aim is to further facilitate and develop opportunities for students to build leadership skills and career experience while engaging with the community, academic technologists, innovators, and industry partners. Envisioned as part of the College’s Strategic Plan, it also is designed to be a catalyst for rebuilding and strengthening Lancaster’s creative economy.
