Lisa DeAngelo and Aubrey Maurer have been selected to lead the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design Alumni Council. The new co-chairs succeed Joe Palumbo ’08, who is stepping down after volunteering for PCA&D for 10 years.
“Lisa and Aubrey are natural leaders and creative forces, and they share my commitment to the Alumni Council and PCA&D. Like me, they are always available to alumni and to be your voice. I’m thrilled they accepted the roles and I can’t wait to see all of the great things they have planned,” Palumbo wrote in an email to alumni. “It’s an honor of a lifetime to represent PCA&D and PCA&D alumni, to connect everyone, and to give you a voice. Thank you so much for trusting me with your voice, for supporting me, and for allowing me to be part of something so much larger than myself.”
DeAngelo, a 2013 Graphic Design graduate of the College, has been an active member of PCA&D’s Alumni Council since 2017 and is thrilled to step into the role of Chair, alongside Co-chair Aubrey Maurer. A dedicated advocate for creative community and connection, DeAngelo brings years of experience from her work at FORCEpkg, a packaging and branding agency led by PCA&D’s own adjunct instructor, Tom Newmaster. She’s excited to keep the momentum going by organizing engaging events and helping strengthen the bonds between alumni and the college.
Maurer is a 2022 graduate of PCA&D’s Fine Art program and a passionate advocate for the power of fine art and design to connect, inspire, and drive change. With experience in curation, design, and business, she brings a thoughtful, community-minded perspective to her role on the Alumni Council.
Together, the goals of DeAngelo and Maurer are to help foster a more connected and supportive alumni network — one where artists can share resources, opportunities, and encouragement. They believe deeply in the importance of sustaining creative communities and are excited to help amplify the voices and work of PCA&D alumni through events, exhibitions, and outreach.
