PCA&D celebrates its first Love Week

Whether you’re paired up or single, whether it’s self-care or love of family, friends, or a romantic interest, Love Week at PCA&D was a time to celebrate all the different kinds of love that power us through.

Student Life had a full week of activity planned, culminating in last Friday evening’s Flock-sponsored Love Ball.

‘The objective of Love Week is to provide a pre-midterm week of programming that is educational, social, and supportive of the well-being of our students,” according to Student Life. ‘This initiative combines a range of activities that promote self-care, community care, and sexual education in both active and passive forms.”

Activities during Love Week ranged from yoga sessions, tarot readings, and self-care packages of sexual wellness supplies, candles, lotions, and plushies (because who doesn’t need something soft and cuddly to snuggle up with?), to a DIY Valentine’s Station with all the materials provided and King Cakes in honor of this week’s Mardi Gras celebrations.

There was also a mask-making night in preparation for Friday’s Masquerade Love Ball, an event organized by The Flock for their first big event of the semester. Students even had a chance to sign up for a platonic blind date for the Love Ball — or they could come with a group of friends or solo.

“The activities planned for the week are designed to ensure that students receive the necessary support to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle,” the Student Life team said. “Love Week aims to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and resources to navigate the challenges of academic life with confidence and resilience.”
