PCA&D signs agreement with Delaware College of Art and Design, building another path to a PCA&D BFA degree

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D), Lancaster, has entered into a 2+2 articulation agreement with Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD), Wilmington, Delaware. Officials from both institutions signed the agreement on January 22 in Lancaster.

The new articulation agreement closely aligns the two art colleges in coordinating their respective curricula and programming and ensures a seamless transition between the institutions’ associate degree (DCAD) and a bachelor of fine art degree (PCA&D) requirements in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography & Video.

“We are delighted to celebrate this partnership as we forge pathways for students to design their futures,” said PCA&D President Michael Molla. “Together we are training them as creatives for a world that desperately needs their skills, thinking, and imagination. We are preparing them for jobs that don’t exist yet, paving the way for their roles as innovators and entrepreneurs.”

Students who successfully complete their two-year associate degree at DCAD and have met PCA&D grade point average (GPA) requirements are assured admission to PCA&D as juniors to continue working toward their BFA degree. Application fees and portfolio requirements for students applying under this agreement are waived.

In addition, DCAD graduates enrolling at PCA&D with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above are eligible for a $1,000 PCA&D Partnership Scholarship, renewable for one year.

“We’re very excited about the new 2+2 program with Pennsylvania College of Art & Design,” DCAD President Jean Dahlgren said. “This agreement will provide easy transfer options for Delaware College of Art and Design students who wish to continue their education and complete a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, this agreement provides scholarship opportunities to our well-qualified students. I’m very grateful to the DCAD and PCA&D faculty and staff who worked to make this possible.”
