In celebration of Friday’s Lancaster-wide 24-hour ExtraGive fundraising event on Friday, November 18, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design and its Center for Creative Exploration have scheduled a day of events for the College community, and the Lancaster community is invited and welcome to join in.

  • Passersby can join the PCA&D Peacocks Esports Team in the College’s Art Garden, corner of Prince and Chestnut streets, and in the College’s CoLab on the first floor of the 202 N. Prince St. building to try out interactive gaming stations managed by PCA&D players and special guests from La Academia Partnership Charter School and the Emerald Foundation. These activities will include character design and virtual 3D modeling, foam art and molding, tournament and community design, retro gaming and console history, computer builds and other technologies, and more surprises.
  • The Center for Creative Exploration (CCE)  is featuring a coloring party! Stop by the College Atrium between 11 am and 2 pm to color and contribute to a large-scale collaborative coloring page. Page by page we’ll reveal the amazing artwork by Kendall White ’23, Illustration. Coloring materials will be provided. Enter through the main entrance, at 204 N. Prince St.
  • During the early evening of ExtraGive, from 4-7 pm, members of the public can celebrate their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) creativity with PCA&D at the Lancaster Science Factory, 454 New Holland Ave., Lancaster. Activties: Dive into the science of color mixing. Go with the flow to create tiny ink masterpieces. And participants can make an art and creativity advocacy button using designs created by Thorne Havener ‘24, Fine Art, or start from scratch and design their own. A selfie station allows members of the public to document their support for invention and creative thinking by visiting the selfie station with props created by PCA&D’s CCE as well as all the event’s partners: Lancaster Science Factory, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Lancaster Creative Reuse, and UPMC Health Plan.
