David Billet, Junior Photography major, was awarded a Student Travel Grant for the Society for Photographic Education’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference “About A Place,” that will be held in Pittsburgh in late October. He one of only two students awarded the grant in all of the mid-Atlantic region. The Society for Photographic Education is a nonprofit membership organization that provides and fosters an understanding of photography as a means of diverse creative expression, cultural insight, and experimental practice.
David’s work has also been featured in Pool Magazine, an online art publication. The magazine published David’s Three Rivers. David says, Three Rivers explores the personal, domestic and social effects that the decline of the industrialism is having on the people who depend on industry to survive, and where this is pushing these people to live.”
Congratulations on both accomplishments, David!
