Pennsylvania College of Art &Design is pleased to announce that two PCA&D students were selected as winners in the 2015 GD USA American Package Design Competition. Socheat Chhun’s package design for Cheata Chips and Samantha Mongelluzo’s design for Mr. Pastie Turnovers were selected in the student category. Chhun, from Middletown, PA, and Mongelluza, from Bowie, MD, both senior graphic design majors at PCA&D, created these designs as part of their Package Design class, taught by Tom Newmaster, during the fall 2014 semester.
In addition, Newmaster’s agency, William Fox Munroe, was also recognized for the designs they created for Wolfgang Cocoa Traveler and Latimer St. Bakery. Newmaster is a faculty member of PCA&D’s Graphic Design department.
For more than 50 years Graphic Design USA has sponsored design competitions that spotlight excellence for creative professionals. This year’s competition saw nearly 2,000 entries.
