Description

Botanical art draws together art and science in this time-honored genre. In this workshop, we will take a field trip to visit our friends at Gallery Grow (located at 150 N Prince street) to explore their special plant specimens. You and your child will get to adopt one plant friend per family to take back to the studio to use as your inspiration! Using our plants as reference, we will create beautiful watercolor plant paintings. We will have a brief discussion on the selected subjects, followed by guided instruction throughout class with instructor demonstrations along the way. The use of brush strokes, color mixing, contrast, and composition will be emphasized to create a unique and expressive work of art. Individual creativity will be encouraged and all experience levels are welcome.

Note: Registration is for one parent and one child to complete the class together.

This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 1 in order to run. Register today!
