Teddy’s Birthday is a horror game made with pixel art. This game was made through Aseprite, a 2D pixel art software, and Godot Engine 4. Inspired by chunky PlayStation 1 graphics, I made it my goal to test my hand in making a creepy experience. I made it a priority to listen to my peer’s opinions and the target audience as their pointers, concerns, and thoughts were important to me. I believe that it is important to listen to the target audience in order to ensure the experience of the game is what the players want it to be, but also to balance the wants of players with my own vision. I want my game to be fun, engaging, and deceptively cute.
As an aspiring technical artist, I strive to create games, art, and graphics which reflect the passion and nostalgia from the early 2000’s action/adventure games. I make it my priority to respect the craft in both 2D and 3D art, software, and game development to bring back the amount of love gamers deserve.
