Joanna Becker

Rooted in a love for Gothic architecture and scientific illustration, Joanna Becker’s work brings a contemporary twist to medieval art. Delicate details and ornamentation drawn from illuminated manuscripts and stained glass windows are signatures of her illustrations. Her senior thesis project is a four-part illuminated manuscript following the seasons. Becker has exhibited work at the PCA&D CORE Gallery and has been profiled in Fig Magazine. During her time at PCA&D, she completed a mentorship with the artist Anthony Palumbo and has made the Dean’s List every semester. Becker co- owns Bushi and Brush, where she teaches both martial and visual arts.
