A.J. Hahn

Animation & Game Art, BFA

Thesis Project

Inspired By Sega’s Jet Set Radio, A.J. Hahn creates work that brings new life to old ideas. His 3D animated Capstone Film “The Trick” utilises the style of 2D animation and design aesthetics of Y2K Futurism and ties it together with the message of taking a step back and trying again, a statement we can all relate to. A.J. Hahn plans to continue his work in Storyboarding, Concept, and Character Design.

Bio
Hello, I’m Allen Jasper “A.J.” Hahn my pronouns are He/They and I identify myself as Acesexual and Roseboy. I was born in the Midwest but I have lived most of my life in the rural areas of Pennsylvania. I believe that the media affects people personally much more than people think and I mean that in a good way. People should be proud of what media they enjoy, I clearly “wear one’s heart on one’s sleeve” which is what made me an artist. I enjoy reading Comic books and interested in comic book history, The themes and messages of Ska and Vocaloid music, the earnest of special effects in Tokusatsu Genre, the designs of early 2000s which can be seen in my Capstone film “The Trick”, and of course animation. I’m primarily a Concept and Storyboard artist but also have experience in Character design and some experience in 3D design. Also have tried my hand in Live2D animation. Most of my work takes inspiration that I like and makes something new and makes people aware of the inspiration.
