Minor in Business in Creative Industry
Thesis Project

“Good days in a good life; that’s, no doubt, why it hurts so much now that it’s all behind me…”
– Nathan J. Wilson

In July of 2022, Cleo’s grandfather chose to take his own life. He was a farmer for 39 years, and was always passionate about the agriculture industry. With her thesis she wanted to honor his memory as well as do something for the community he cared so much about. Cleo developed & branded an agricultural mental health campaign, “Papa’s Cap”. “Papa’s Cap” is focused on raising awareness & providing resources relating to mental health & farm stress to agricultural communities.

Bio
Cleo grew up on a dairy farm in rural western New York, & like a lot of creatives she was (& still is) the “art kid”. She became interested in graphic design in middle school after her Granny Shanny got her the chance to shadow the design department at CMT (Country Music Television) for a day. Design is everywhere you look, and she loves to see how design has evolved over time, often taking inspiration from past trends. These past four years Cleo has achieved a lot as a designer. She was part of PCA&D’s winning team for America250PA’s 2022 DEIC, was chosen as a 2024 GDUSA Student to Watch, and is a 2024 American Package Design Award winner. She is also an officer for PCA&D’s student AIGA club.
