Animation & Game Art, BFA

Thesis Project

Heather uses character animation to explore stories that are not commonly told in animation. Their thesis project “Hide and Seek” uses 3-D animation to tell the story of a boy and a monster spending the day together. Heather’s thesis film is a culmination of their current skills as an animator, and this project allowed for them to explore every aspect of the short film creation process from preproduction to final animation and rendering. Heather has been working on this project since the second half of their junior year at PCA&D. They used the shape editor and character rigging to animate their main characters Toby and Beryl throughout their thesis project.

Bio
Heather is Secretary for PCA&D’s SIGGRAPH Chapter and has had their artwork included in exhibitions both in and out of the college setting. Heather has participated in multiple clubs and events in and out of the school setting throughout their 4 years at PCA&D. They hope to be able to tell more stories like their capstone in the future within the animation industry.
