Thesis Project

Sophia Phillips uses graphic design to explore sustainability in the fashion industry. Her inspiration for the project stems from her knowledge of textile waste and a passion for sewing. Combining the two, her thesis was born as a sustainable clothing brand with handmade pieces. Her project, Not Your Grandma’s, originated from taking the old clothing found at thrift stores. Utilizing grandmother’s outdated garments, and extending their life cycle by turning them into something modern.
