Description

Students in grades 4-6 will be inspired to learn the various ways that women in the arts have had such profound and powerful voice with much to say, and how creativity is fueled by personal experiences. Each week will be an emphasis on how women in the arts use their artwork to communicate important ideas related to identity, culture, and contemporary life. We will explore various materials and creative processes, including painting, collage, printmaking, abstraction, design, and composition.  The main goal of this class is to encourage students to create artwork as a personal response to the examples discussed, and to provide students the means to reflect on how they can use their artistic voice for advocacy and support. This course must meet minimum enrollment by March 8 in order to run. Register today!
