PCA&D Illustration alumni were name-checked in a recent LNP LancasterOnline article about Addvent, an arts collaboration that joins artists from the U.S. and Italy in a series of poster designs. Jay Aman ’22, Joanna Becker’21, Sage Dougherty ’20, and Tyler Le ’20, all are part of Addvent’s roster of 20 or so artists from the two countries, and Addvent’s Creative Director, Laura Korzon, is a former PCA&D faculty member. Addvent’s work takes viewers on illustrated adventures around the world, with informational, themed posters and note cards. Learn more about Addvent here.
- Tom Newmaster, Graphic Design adjunct, recently was interviewed by the podcast Ingrained Insights, which examines the snack food and baking industry. Newmaster, a partner in Lancaster’s FORCEpkg design and branding firm, relates his experience in packaging design analysis and disruption. You can listen to his episode at the link here.
- I’m Still Black, a body of work by Admissions Counselor Osmyn Oree ’11, Photography, opened in exhibition last month in the DeSoto Family Vault of Susquehanna Art Museum, Harrisburg, and will remain on display through Jan. 8, 2023. “The work in this series addresses that feeling of not knowing where I belong in my own culture and the challenge of finding out what it means to be African American today,” Oree says in his artist statement. “Investigating Blackness and its facets has become an inward exploration of family and cultural complexity.” Susquehanna Art Museum is located at 1401 N. Third St., Harrisburg.
- Photography & Video juniors in Prof. Jill Sherman‘s Advanced Digital Photography class present Anthology, an exhibition in the PHV Hallway Gallery, through Jan. 31. Featured is the work of Hannah Aust, Jenna Cervone, Kiri Chhun, Leona Hatch, Alexander Smith, and Cameren White.
