- Salina Almanzar-Oree, Assistant Director, Center for Creative Exploration, is part of a group exhibition opening for Feb. 7 First Friday at the Regitz Gallery at The Ware Center, in Lancaster. Wanawake opens with a reception that evening from 5:30-8 pm.
- Visions of Modular Dreamscapes, an exhibition of work by Isiah Bates 22, Fine Art, opens today and runs through the end of March at curio. Gallery & Creative Supply, Lancaster. “This body of work represents a true exploration of self, in its purest form,” Bates says in an artist statement. “By letting my hand move across the surface without any true direction, I can actively pull from this other reality. This process lessens the stress of perfection and creates a direct link between the waking world and that of the mind.” You can see some of Bates’s work at a curio. virtual exhibition here. An opening reception will be held Feb. 7 for First Friday, and an Artist Talk will be held March 11, 7-8 pm, at curio.
- Paige Alana Bowermaster ’23, Graphic Design, recently completed a brand redesign for the Lancaster County Chooses Love organization. It can be seen on billboards throughout the region.
- Work by Rachel Elizabeth ’13, Fine Art, is on display at The Fridge, 534 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, for the next three months. You can follow her work at Rachel Elizabeth Fine Art on Facebook.
- Papa’s Cap, the senior thesis project by Cleo Kendrick ’24, Graphic Design, has been featured in GDUSA Magazine for its 2024 American Design Awards in the Student Design category. Papa’s Cap raises awareness and provides resources relating to mental health and farm stress to agricultural communities. See more here.
- The winter exhibition at Edmonds College in Lynnwood, Wash., features the works of quinn mcnichol ’12, Fine Art, a faculty member of the college’s Art Department. (In)Sights: the Eye Sees the I will run through March 21. They earned their MFA from the University of Washington’s School of Art + Art History + Design in Seattle, and have studied and exhibited nationally and internationally. They also are a member of SOIL, an artist-run gallery in Seattle.
- Work by Admissions Department counselor Osmyn Oree ’11 is featured in a group exhibition that opens Feb. 1 at Lancaster Art Vault, 100 N. Queen St. Expressions of Strength: A Celebration of Black Art and Identity is open through the end of March at the gallery. The show also features two other artists with PCA&D connections: Cameren White ’24, Photography & Video, and Ophelia Chambliss, who was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts by the College at the 2023 Commencement. - Jose Rosado ’22, Graphic Design, has started a new position as Graphic Design Manager at IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
- Congratulations to Alexander Smith ’24, Photography & Video, whose photo of a female lion recently won first place in a photography contest sponsored by The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. You can see the photo here on the zoo’s Facebook page
