Description

Working in plein air is a challenging and rewarding way to experience the natural landscape. Students will learn to create dynamic compositions, learn to use watercolor effectively to create interesting depictions of natural surroundings, use a variety of media and tools for both drawing and painting including, heavyweight paper, pen, pencil, ink, watercolor, conte crayons, charcoal and more. You will get to work on landscape pieces among like-minded individuals at the beautiful Tanger Arboretum. This class will work rain or shine so keep weather in mind!

This course must meet minimum enrollment by June 15 in order to run. Register today! 

Supplies

  • Small watercolor pad – no bigger than 11×17
  • #2 pencil
  • white plastic eraser and kneaded eraser
  • charcoal pencil (recommended)
  • conte crayon – black and white (recommended)
  • watercolor palette of your choosing
  • A blanket or portable chair 
  • Weather appropriate clothing
