Description

This portraiture class delves into the anatomy and structure of the individual features of the face and their subsequent relationships to other features. The goals of this class are to leave with a better understanding of the parts of the whole in order to improve portrait drawing and painting skills. Students can expect demonstrations and time to practice drawing or painting the features from life in their choice of drawing materials, watercolor, or gouache.

This course must meet minimum enrollment by January 28 in order to run. Register today!

  • Assorted Graphite pencils
  • Heavyweight Drawing paper or Watercolor paper no larger than 11″ x 14″
  • Watercolor or Gouache paint
  • brushes
  • cup for water
  • sponge for “erasing” or blending
  • Artist’s Tape
  • Drawing Board (medium or large)
  • Charcoal, Conte, Colored Pencils, or Pen and Ink
  • Kneaded Eraser
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Plastic or Hard Eraser
