Description

In this class students will learn the foundations of photography through the use of a DSLR camera. Through lectures and hands on learning, students will learn the building blocks of making properly exposed images such as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. Students will also start to learn the basics of image processing through Adobe Photoshop, allowing them to make polished, portfolio ready images. By the end of the class students will be able to make images with a camera like it is second nature.

This is a credit-bearing class and grades will be given. Please check the supply list tab for materials needed to complete this class.

  • Hard drive or flash drive for saving and transporting images
  • Note taking supplies
  • Camera is optional. PCA&D will have digital DSLR cameras available during class time. If you would prefer to bring your own manual capability camera, you may do so.
  • An Adobe ID login email address for access to an active Adobe account (NO subscription necessary to obtain an ID.)
