Description
This one is for nature lovers! In this week-long camp, students will explore how to use natural materials to practice a variety of different art techniques as well as learn about artists and local organizations making a positive change in our community! Students will dive into hands-on projects where they will experiment with developing photos using the sun, make paintings using handmade paper and inks, create beautiful patterns through flower pounding using locally grown flowers, and dye clothing using indigo dye and other natural materials. We will learn about local organizations and artists from flower farmers (First Light Flower Co) to dye studios (Green Matters) and other organizations (College Park CAN) who are making a positive impact in our county. We will end the week with an outdoor celebration of our work! This is a hands-on studio class with lots of room for experimentation and exploring new ways of thinking about environmental art!
This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 6 in order to run. Register today!
