Description
In this live portrait painting workshop, students will gain the skills of building up likeness working simple to complex, building confidence in their palette choices, design choices, and anatomical knowledge. Working in the painting medium of their choice, students will sit through a demonstration of how to begin, clarify and resolve a portrait painting while working on their own and integrating the lesson first hand. Color theory, color fields of the face, structure, anatomy, and design will all be covered. Note: Students provide their own materials.
This course must meet minimum enrollment by October 17th in order to run. Register today!

- gessoed paper or canvas – 11×14″ – 16×20″
- drawing board if working on gessoed paper
- assorted brushes
- cup for water or medium container
- paints
- palette
- gesso for priming paper
- palette knife (if working in oil or acrylic)
- artist’s tape
