Description

Beat Poetry is a sub-genre of poetry popularized in the 1950’s. Known for subverting cultural norms of the time, the Beat generation challenged poetic structures embracing stream of consciousness and a focus on the human condition. In this class, Sir Dominique Jordan will share the history of Beat poetry as well as prompts for you to create your own Beat inspired writing! Come prepared to listen, write, share, and discuss!
