Description

In this class each student will learn how to make their own batch or air dry, papier mache clay! After creating the clay, we will begin our sculpting journey! You will leave the class with a completed face or self portrait sculpture based on a reference OR from your imagination! At the end of class each student will walk away with the knowledge and experience of trying this unusual medium and a finished art piece.

*Please note that this class uses wheat flour for papier mache construction. 

This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 2 in order to run. Register today! 

Supplies

  • 4 rolls of cheap toilet paper
  • A small container of Joint Compound (You will only use 1 cup for the batch made in class)
  • 1 bottle of Elmer’s white glue (you will use 3/4 cup of glue for the batch made in class) 
  • 2 – 1″ glass cabochons (optional)
  • a roll of press n seal plastic wrap
  • 5 qt. Tupperware type container
