Description
The goal of this course is to familiarize all students with the basic principles and possibilities available in Adobe Photoshop. The outcomes to be achieved will be student understanding of pixel-based imagery, resolution, color builds, interface tools and palettes, vocabulary, color correction and perfection, layers, layer masks, art brushes, animation, web graphics and output
methods. Please note that the class is scheduled from 6-9pm however some meetings may include asynchronous work expected to be done within that timeframe. More information about the day to day schedule will be provided in the syllabus.
This is a credit-bearing class and grades will be given. Please check the supply list tab for materials needed to complete this class.

Supply List
- A Gmail.com email address – PCA&D uses Google Classroom for online classes. Gmail accounts are free to create.
- Computer/tablet/internet-enabled device with mic/camera
- A computer meeting these recommended system requirements is preferred for optimal program performance. Your computer must meet the minimum requirements listed for the programs to run at all.
- Internet access
- Pen and sketchbook to take notes. Please do not plan on taking digital notes on a personal laptop, phone, or tablet.
- Adobe Photoshop. If you do not already have access to these programs, please provide your Adobe ID login email address for access to an active Adobe account (NO subscription necessary) Please contact ce@pcad.edu with your Adobe ID name after registration. The College will grant you access to download the software you need for successful completion of your course starting one week before the class date and one week after the course ends.
