Description
In this class for students in grades 5-8, your child will get the opportunity to illustrate a story, once they have already crafted or one that is provided by the instructor. Together, we will walk through the process of what it takes to create a believable illustration in a book, how to build believable characters and environments, and how to ensure that they stand out in the sea of other books. Students will use dry materials of their choosing (pencil, marker, colored pencil, etc.) to create thumbnails, rough sketches and illustrations. Students will walk away with a portfolio of step-by-step necessities when it comes to book illustration. They will have a much better understanding of the expectations that the industry has for them as not just authors but illustrators. This is a studio based class with a bit of lecture and guidance to start followed by one-on-one instruction. Expect to have some creative freedom within the bounds of the assignment!
This course must meet minimum enrollment by February 7 in order to run. Register today!
