Description
In this textile workshop, students will investigate fabric/textile art surface design. Students will use resist color changing techniques to create new patterned surfaces, experimenting with; shibori, tying, clamping, folding, and wrapping. They will create multiple fabrics to use as surfaces for future projects. This class will meet 1 time in-person during which students will work diligently, collaborate, and have fun creating new surfaces on fabric!
Notes: Wearing a smock or older clothing may be helpful when working with dyes and bleach.
This course must meet minimum enrollment by July 8 in order to run. Register today!
Supply List
- Please bring items for clamping & wrapping (suggest plastic, or metal clips, clothespins, and twine)
- Dark colored cotton fabrics to experiment with
- 100% cotton fabrics or other natural fibers work best (recommend darker colors)
