Description
This color for painters class covers everything you need to know to understand how we see color in the world, how color (ie. light) behaves and interacts, how to match what we see within the limitations of the pigments we use, and the specific ways in which we can navigate our palettes and paintings with confidence. This class benefits the experienced painter and the novice alike. Students will explore the concepts through a variety of painting exercises that challenge mixing and composing what they see and finishes with a complete colorful direct observation still life painting. At the completion of the class, students will have one completed still life painting and a variety of color studies and exercises on gessoed paper. This class will involved a fair amount of lecture through discussion and sharing slides/reference materials. The instructor will demonstrate skills, and allow students to practice these skills prior to apply them to their final artwork.
This course must meet minimum enrollment by February 4 in order to run. Register today!
