Figure Drawing: Extended Pose Workshop with Evan Kitson

In this single session long-pose figure drawing workshop, artist, anatomist, and instructor Evan Kitson will guide you through the main stages of building a single drawing from the blank page to a resolved artwork. Through lecture, demonstration, and personalized feedback at the drawing easel, you’ll learn how to navigate the timeless challenges of gesture, proportion, structure, mark-making and material use, while also studying the nude human figure through artistic anatomy and perception concepts. You’ll leave this workshop with a worked and well-observed figure drawing, and the many ideas and concepts surrounding its construction that you can then bring into your personal work at home. Evan will be teaching and demonstrating using graphite materials, but you’re welcome to use any erasable drawing medium you prefer. This workshop has been designed for the “intermediate level” artist, but there’s a lot here for both the beginner and the more advanced artist as well.
